All of those special ladies in your life should be celebrated every single day, but on Mother’s Day is a extra time to truly admire the hard work all of those moms and mom like figures do to make life go round.  We are going to summarize some easy and fun ideas/activities you can do to share the special day.

While these ideas are not fancy, they are just the perfect amount of low key, last minute, and thoughtful.

Breakfast in Bed

Now if you are anything like me, I’m the first one awake in the house, and most likely, the ladies you will be doing this for are as well.  So this takes some planning.  While you want it to be a surprise (especially if it is coming from the kids) it would be helpful to tell her the night before so she can mentally plan and prepare (yes, you know she will need to be aware of this).

Breakfast in bed can be breakfast, lunch, snack, coffee, really whatever.  It also doesn’t have to be “in bed” it can be on the couch and the kids can prepare snacks during the day and wash the dishes.  All in all, it’s nice that she will be taken care of!

Go on a Hike (or nature walk)

With the spring weather in full swing, it’s a great time to get out there and enjoy the outdoors.  Our area has tons of preserves, parks, and trails.  Just google park near me and you will find a plethora of different options.  If you’re in Skippack area, check out Fischers Park.  If you’re in Blue Bell, Wentz Run is the best, and if you’re Main Line, Ashbridge is my go-to.  Dress comfy, get outside, and enjoy nature together.

Take her for a Picnic

Whatever her favorite snack sensations are, load up on them.  Whether it be Whole Foods Cheeses, Trader Joes Dips, or Wegmans charcutier boards, get her favorites and pack up a little bag with a towel/blanket, some music, and maybe even some books.  You can do this at a local park (or even in your backyard).

Plant a Flower / Tree

This is a gift that keeps giving.  Does she love hydrangeas or tulips?  Is she more into trees?  Whatever it is, any local garden store will have it.  Together, find a place outside that is special to her.  Plant together and each year this can become a tradition together to plant something new.  This is a win-win-win.  For her, for the environment, and for your local gardening store! Hint – if you are in the Skippack area, check out Floral & Hardy – truly the best!

Give her a day (or afternoon) of self-care

While you probably want to spend the day with her, chances are she would love a little alone time as well.  So check out some local spas for an afternoon mani/pedi, massage, facial, etc.  Handle the dishes, cooking, cleaning for the day, and let her indulge in a day of relaxation and self-care : )

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE AMAZING MOMS AND MOM FIGURES OUT THERE! You are loved more than you know!

Have a Mother’s Day activity/tradition that you love?  We’d love to hear about it!
