Now that the school year is in full swing, we thought we’d share some easy, healthy, and stress-free lunch ideas to add some variety into the day!
We asked tutors on the team, families we work with, and our admins’ children and here are some great ways to make lunch a fan favorite in your house!
- Mix and Match Boards
When it comes to lunches, the name of the game is quick, easy, and nutritious. This is an example of a mix and match board that incorporates food groups that your child can choose from. In the start of the week, stock the house with a few of these ideas. Together, as a family, come up with a plan for the week! Not only will it be healthy, but the kids will look forward to it!
- Wrap Ideas
These low maintenance lunch ideas are a great way to add variety to the week. You can use any type of wrap (or bread or cracker if they prefer) and incorporate fruits, veggies, proteins, etc.
- Bento Boxes
You can purchase any type of bento box on Amazon or in stores like Target or Marshalls, etc. It’s nice because it separates the food, is easy to wash, and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. You can use the list above to ensure that you are preparing a healthy and well balanced lunch. I have heard that when you allow the kids to pick out their bento box they are more inclined to eat what’s in it : )
- Bonus – SNACKS!
These mix and match snack ideas are great for snack time at school or after school snacks. Two ingredients is all that is needed to make it nutritious!
Have a healthy lunch idea that your kids enjoy? We’d LOVE to hear from you!
