Back to school is my absolute favorite time of the year. It is a fresh start, a new group of students to love, fresh families to get to know, exciting school supplies to purchase and of course, a new planner.
To say I look forward to this is an understatement . This is a big deal to me. It sets the tone for my year of productivity. I spend a considerable amount of time researching the planner. And not just on line. I go to many stores to feel it, look through it, try it in my bag. These are all important considerations to me as I pick the most perfect planner. Yes, you may think this is outrageous…but #ifyouknowyouknow.
Over the years, my use of planners have changed and developed. When I was in high school, it was strictly for assignments. In college, I used a planner to keep my events organized #student athlete. After college, I needed a planner to keep my social calendar and goals in order. And now, as a teacher, I feel that I need a combination of all of these. I have been struggling to find something that will keep my love of bright yet not flashy colors, weekly and monthly goals attainable, section for to do lists, a weekly calendar, and monthly overview, etc etc etc. Yes – I know my list is extensive…so you can see that the struggle is real.
A few years ago, my mentor and best teacher friend, Meg Henry, bought me a planner as my end of the year gift. She promised would “change my world.” Well – sure enough, it did! It is the Erin Condren planner.
