If we’ve learned anything the past year, it’s how to be creative. Below you will find some awesome ideas to make a Movie Night in your own living room (or yard) for the whole family to enjoy! So, pop that popcorn, recline those seats, and enjoy the show!

  1. Pick a Theme –

Pick a weekly theme and have the family get dressed up in their finest attire! Some theme ideas are:

  • Superheroes
  • Sports
  • Animals
  • Spooky
  • Decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc.)

  • Create Your Own Movie Tickets –

Enter “free printable movie tickets” in your Google search bar, and Voila! You can design tickets customized to your family and theme. You can also keep it simple and buy a roll of raffle tickets. Have one lucky family member stand at the entrance to collect your tickets before the show begins.

  • Take it Outside –

One awesome investment you’ll be sure to use all summer long is an inexpensive projector like this one here. Set up a big white sheet, or if you have a light colored wall on one side of your house, that will work too! Spread out some blankets and twinkle lights. You’ll never want to go to the theater again!

  • Pass the Popcorn!

  • Let’s Go to the Drive In!

One great thing that has made a comeback this year is local drive-in movie theaters. Pack up the car and take the families to one of the local drive-ins, like the one listed here. Don’t forget to tell the kids about “when we were young”!
