As we finally look forward to warmer days, it’s hard not to think about the fun adventures they will bring us this summer! In honor of Earth Day (April 22), we thought we could share some great summer programs that your kids (and you) can enjoy surrounded by Mother Nature! When I was little, there was nothing I loved more than finding cool rocks, looking for frogs and tadpoles in streams, and learning about the different foliage around me. After being cooped up for so long, let’s let our kids be kids and get ready to enjoy some fresh air and beauty that can be found right in our own back yards!

  1. Riverbend Environmental Education Center – Gladwyne, PA

https://riverbendeec.org/what-we-do/programs/summer-camp

“Hiking, stream-stomping and bug-catching are a few of the key ingredients that have made Riverbend’s summer camp a sensation for more than three decades. Riverbend campers aren’t afraid to get a little dirty in our weekly program that runs from mid-June to Labor Day. Children have fun as they connect with nature and build upon skills and knowledge. Our qualified and enthusiastic educators (some who were campers themselves!) guide children in hands-on nature exploration and investigation with games, crafts, hikes, and more. Your child’s favorite summer memories await!”
